Humboldt County Guide to
Environmental Education
Humboldt County Office of Education
The Humboldt County Guide to Environmental Education (EE Guide for short) was developed to provide a one-stop, online resource for educators in Humboldt County looking for environmental programming to supplement, expand and/or enhance their curriculum.
This guide includes field trips, in-class presentations, annual and seasonal events, outdoor schools, and other environmental resources. It strives to address social, cultural and environmental relevance for our area, and where applicable outlines how programming aligns with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Instructions for using the EE Guide:
- The EE Guide is organized by grade. Start by clicking on the tab that corresponds to the grade or age group you are teaching.
- Scroll down to see EE programs offered. Column A states the program name and key themes associated with it.
- To see the full content of a specific cell, double-click on that cell
- Contact information for each program is listed in column B. We recommend visiting the organization’s website and following their instructions for setting up a field trip or classroom visit.
Instructions for Environmental Education Providers:
- If you have an existing program listed in the EE Guide, and wish to update it or make a change, please contact Marisa Formosa at marisa@nrsrcaa.org.
- If you wish to submit a new EE program to be listed in the EE Guide, please complete the google form here
